There used to be a time when we never rode with a saddlebag—the Rules wouldn´t allow it—and we wanted our bikes to look sleek andhaving a pack hanging off our saddle isn´t exactly pro. But, when the pros arelogging long miles on their training bikes and valuable jersey pocket space isreserved for food and extra apparel, a bag becomes mandatory. As our own ridesget longer, afforded by more available daylight, and the lure of gravelexploring creating the very real possibility of multiple flats, we´ve taken torolling with a bag and the Seat Capsule Premio from Silca has become our go-to.

The Seat Capsule Premio uses a BOA Closure System with RailGuard for grip and protection against the saddle rails and its location isoptimized for stability and aerodynamics. It fits right underneath the saddleand never rubs the legs or otherwise interfere with your pedaling. As a bonus,since it only attaches to the rails and not the post´s shaft, you can run itwith your dropper post without it interfering with its travel.

The thermoformed shell creates structure and has twointernal dividers for organization. A YKK locking zipper is positioned low onthe bag for easy access while it’s still attached to the saddle. The capsuleoffers more carrying capacity than the seat roll offerings from Silca with aninternal volume of 625cc and can easily hold a 29 x 2.35in or two 700c x 30mminner tubes along with a set of tire levers, multi-tool, CO2 dispenser, and upto three CO2 cartridges.
