Why We Like The Ibis Ripley Deore Mountain Bike

Ibis´s singletrack shredder is back with more capability and redesigned features throughout to take trail riding to the next level. The Ripley gets a 10mm bump in travel and now features 130mm of DW-Link suspension for more capability and confidence all over the mountain. A longer wheelbase and reach give us more stability and confidence on steep terrain, and the 140mm fork and 64.9-degree head tube angle make for a more aggressive front end over the previous model for more capability. Ibis came in hard with the fit and sizing improvement, now dealing the Ripley in five sizes to fit a broader range of riders and throwing in size-specific geometry for a more balanced fit and feel for every size. Another new feature of the Ripley is the mixed-wheel compatibility, allowing us to run a 27.5-inch rear wheel with the flip of the chip on the rear shock link. Finally, and with no warning, Ibis dumped on us their new internal frame storage system, which has a unique lever-action door and special edition storage bags so we can leave the backpack at home.

The Shimano Deore build sports budget-oriented but quality components to keep costs low and the stoke high. All builds come with Ibis´s premium carbon frame, which has a great reputation for being durable, lightweight, and reliable. Next, Shimano´s Deore drivetrain equips us with a 12-speed drivetrain that brings us a reliable and budget-focused drivetrain to excel on the trails. A Fox Factory DPS rear shock keeps us gripping the dirt, while the Fox Float 34 Performance 140mm fork does a great job at soaking up the bigger hits while keeping the weight to a minimum.
