Why We Like The Ibis Exie Deore Mountain Bike

The Ibis Exie is the lightweight, cross-country speed machine of our dreams built for crushing single track and maybe even dipping our toes into the local XC race scene. The hand-laid carbon frame strikes the perfect balance between stiffness and compliance so that we can really go all out on the sprint to the finish but don´t feel like we´ve been through a few rounds in the ring after a long day out on the trails. 100mm of DW-Link rear travel not only delivers incredible amounts of rear wheel traction all over the mountain, it also provides us with a highly efficient pedaling platform. The geometry of the new Exie just speaks to its quest for efficiency with a 67.2-degree headtube angle for razor-sharp handling and steep, size-specific seat tube angles so that every one of us can get into the same powerful climbing position no matter what our inseam is.

The Ibis Exie Deore build gives us a high-performance race-ready kit that won´t drain our bank account. Shimano´s impressively smooth Deore 12-speed drivetrain takes care of the shifting duties and comes with a wide gearing range so we´re not feeling over-geared on the climbs or under-geared in the flats. The frame itself is still constructed of hand-laid carbon, however, it clocks in at about 250g heavier than its World Cup-winning brethren. A 120mm Fox Performance 34 Step Cast fork pairs well with the Fox Performance Float DPS out front to soak up trail chatter and keep us locked into our line on technical descents. A pair of lightweight 29-inch Ibis 933 Aluminum rims get laced up to Ibis Logo hubs to keep us rolling up and over just about any obstacle we find out there on course. Whether we´re trying our hand at cross-country racing or just looking for a singletrack slayer, the Ibis Exie Deore Mountain Bike is a wallet-friendly short-travel machine ready to ride.
