Why We Like The Santa Cruz Highball CC Mountain Bike Frame

From singletrack ripping to racing in our local XC series, the Santa Cruz Highball is one of our favorite cross-country bikes to throw a leg over when we want to go fast. Featuring a lightweight frame, 29-inch wheels, and capable geometry, the Highball demands to go fast on flat ground and shred up technical climbs. The Highball has a smaller diameter seat tube for a smoother feel and an offset seat stay design to help eliminate vibration and energy transfer from the rear end, giving us more capability and confidence in technical terrain. A slack 67-degree headtube angle offers better positioning on steeper descents while maintaining precise handling on the flats. The low-slung top tube ensures a lower standover height, and combined with the lower seat tube, we have more room to run longer seat posts or even dropper posts. The Highball has integrated downtube and chainstay protectors to protect against rock strikes and chain slaps, and the front triangle can hold three water bottles, so we can leave the hydration pack at home.
