Refusing to sacrifice fun for maneuverability, the Santa Cruz 5010 is the capable and efficient mid-travel trail bike we’ve been dreaming of. The super-light Carbon CC frame is designed around a mixed-wheel design to reap the benefits of a 29-inch front wheel that rolls over techy roots with ease and a 27.5-inch rear wheel to help us boost off lips at the local dirt jumps and shred corners with style. 130mm of seemingly bottomless rear travel is backed by the supportive VPP rear linkage along with an enhanced shock tune and leverage curve to dampen the ride feel for unreal amounts of traction without losing the 5010’s signature playful style. A 64.9-degree headtube angle (low position) provides us with plenty of stability at speed while maintaining precision steering through tight switchbacks. Plus, the Glovebox integrated frame storage stows our tools, a tube, and even a windbreaker for those chilly sunset rides.

The top-tier 5010 CC X0 Eagle Transmission kit is built to be fast, fun, and nearly indestructible. SRAM’s new X0 Eagle Transmission 12-speed groupset delivers the same massive gear range we know and love but with superior shifting capabilities that function even better under heavy pedaling loads. A RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate rear shock and a Pike Ultimate fork with 140mm of travel effortlessly smooth out bumpy trails and provide us with loads of adjustments so that we can dial in our ride feel to suit our style. The bombproof Race Face ARC 30 Offset alloy wheels offer extra vibration damping and just the right balance of stiffness and compliance so that we can stay locked into our line.
