The Kestrel Ice Tool is officially Trango´s lightest, most advanced tool for fast-and-light mountain objectives. It excels in the backcountry on steep ice and technical mixed climbs, and it weighs less than a pound. Trango achieved a ridiculously light weight by making the shaft out of a carbon Kevlar weave that´s not just ridiculously light, but doesn´t retain heat like aluminum and might actually help with screaming barfies. An epoxy spray coats the dual pommel grips to give a better grip without adding tape. A shaft this innovative deserves an equally aggressive pick, so Trango equipped it with a pick that´s strikingly similar to the Raptor Pick. It´s a sharp, tapered pick angled aggressively for a naturally powerful swing into ice and rock. You can switch the pick out for mixed picks when there´s more rock than ice, and there are attachments for weights to get more power out of your swing.
