The Black Diamond Access Spike Traction Device straps to hiking shoes and boots so you can trek trails with icy sections a lot easier. Like crampons, the Access features stainless steel spikes to assist with traction. Unlike crampons, the Access weighs less, packs better, and accommodates shoes and boots for longer trails with icy, non-technical terrain. It´s perfect for treks as grand as the Grand Teton, where there´s more mileage on rocky terrain than icy, but there´s still the occasional apron full of ice to navigate from time to time.
