Why We Like The Cervelo S5 Red eTap AXS Road Bike

The Cervelo S5 Red eTap AXS Road Bike is an aerodynamically optimized road racing bike fully featured with technologies intended to take us to the top of the podium. The Cervelo All-Carbon fork and frame construction is incredibly lightweight and durable, and the race geometry is optimized to keep us in a powerful position with minimal discomfort. With only electronic shifting compatibility, Cervelo was able to clean up the dropout, add a deeper head tube and bottom bracket area, and aggressively shape the trailing tube edges. They also redesigned the shape of the handlebar to create a flat bar-to-hood transition and added a two-bolt interface to allow for infinite tilt adjustments from 0 to 5 degrees.

On this model of the S5, we control the 12-speed SRAM Red eTap AXS drivetrain, a high-performance wireless system designed to provide an effortless ride. The combination of the 48/35t chainrings and a 10-33t cassette offers a variety of gearing ratios to ensure we can sprint, climb, and descend confidently knowing we won´t run out of gears. The ergonomic shaping of the brake hoods helps us stay comfortably in control as we pull the brakes, and they allow for one-finger braking with 80% less effort from the hoods. To finish this fast build, Cervelo optimized the bike to roll on the Reserve 52/63 wheelset. The 52mm front wheel helps us slice through the wind while providing unmatched handling in crosswinds, while the 63mm rear wheel allows us to push as many watts as possible to get us to that finish line first.
