Why We Like The Yeti SB140 T3 X0 Eagle T-Type 29in Mountain Bike

From flow trails to technical trail rides, the SB140 is a trail machine we would be stoked to ride anytime. The SB140 is a trail bike that has the best of both worlds, with a fun and agile geometry combined with 29-inch wheels for efficient rollover characteristics; we feel the SB140 is a well-balanced bike that does everything right. Yeti´s Switch Infinity suspension platform uses a translating pivot design that moves up and back down again as the bike moves through its suspension travel to give us better small bump sensitivity, mid-stroke support, and bottom-out resistance. The SB140 has many of the same design features as the beloved SB130 but takes them to the next level to give us a bike that is more capable and just as efficient. The Yeti SB140 features a slack 65.4-degree headtube angle to provide us with confidence and stability as we point the wheels downward, and a higher stack height puts us in a more upright position allowing us to be more capable on the descents while maximizing efficiency when climbing. Size-specific seat tube angles ensure we all get an efficient pedaling position, and size-specific chainstays allow every rider to have a playful, poppy, and stable bike, no matter what frame size we are on. Yeti revised their frames this year, giving us 34 more millimeters of clearance under the bottom bracket to protect against rock strikes. The Switch Infinity system also received an update, giving us a smaller, more compact design, more durable, corrosion-resistant bearings, floating collet pivot axles for enhanced stiffness, and a new bushing design for greater sensitivity. The SB140´s progression curve was updated to a more linear 14 percent, giving us more small bump sensitivity and better mid-stroke support. The final third of its progression curve becomes more progressive as you move through the travel for more bottom-out resistance, meaning we can ride harder, be more comfortable and have more protection from bottoming out the shock on big hits.

The T3 X0 Eagle Transmission AXS build of the Yeti SB140 has top-tier components and a premium carbon frame. Yeti´s TURQ carbon frame is as good as it gets and uses premium carbon fiber for the stiffest and lightest frame possible. SRAM´s X0 Transmission drivetrain gives us the latest tech in the electronic drivetrain world, supplying us with flawless shifting, a hanger-less interface for more durability, an auto-adjusting overload clutch that realigns our derailleur should it ever get knocked out of place, and a super durable design. A Fox Factory 36 FIT4 fork paired with a Factory DPS shock gives us top-tier suspension performance that is super smooth and adjustable and handles obstacles on the trail like a knife through butter. When we are flying on flowy singletrack and suddenly need to stop, we trust the SRAM G2 RSC brakes to give us the stopping power we need. DT Swiss´s XM1700 wheels are quality aluminum rims that are durable and paired with DT Swiss´s 350 hubs for a top-tier aluminum wheelset.
